The Maya Bay Park Fee from Phi Phi

Maya Bay is in Hat Noppharat Thara - Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park, and visiting it costs 400 baht for a foreign adult (the national parks department’s fee schedule of June 2023, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand) and 200 baht for a child (the Tourism Authority of Thailand), checked November 2026. It is the park’s fee, not the boat’s. Some tours from Phi Phi Don include it and some leave it to you; if yours leaves it out, carry the cash.

Who sets it

Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation sets the fee. Its schedule of June 2023 charges a foreign adult 400 baht in the area of Ko Phi Phi Don, Ko Phi Phi Le and Ko Mai Phai (Bamboo Island); elsewhere in the park the foreign adult rate is 200 baht, and a Thai adult pays 40. The Tourism Authority of Thailand gives 200 baht for a foreign child and 20 for a Thai child, and advises keeping your ticket on you, because park officers may ask to see it on both Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh.

Since October 2025 the Phi Phi park has used electronic tickets: the tourism authority’s advice is to buy in advance and have your passport ready (Tourism Authority of Thailand, 20 October 2026).

The cheapest boat, the longtail, is one of those that leave it out. The fee is the same whichever boat you take; what differs is whether it is already in the tour’s price.

We could not find a statement, from the park or from these tours, on whether a price that “includes the park fee” also covers the e-ticket. If it matters to you, ask the operator through your booking before the day.

What reviewers say about paying

On Sawasdee Phi Phi’s longtail, which leaves the fee out, it is one of the commonest complaints. Of its 350 most recent reviews (4 May to 8 November 2026), at least three between June and September 2026 say they were asked for 400 baht at Maya Bay or at the meeting point, and one group in July 2026 did not go ashore at Maya Bay because they had no cash with them. A reviewer of the first-group boat in April 2026 gave the same advice: take your cash with you when you land at Maya Bay.

The park fee for a foreign adult is 400 baht, and a tour whose price leaves it out, like the longtail, leaves you to pay it on the day.

Before you go

• Count the cash. 400 baht for each foreign adult and 200 for each child, if your tour leaves the fee out.
• Bring your passport. The tourism authority asks e-ticket buyers to have it ready.
• Keep the ticket. Park officers may check it on Phi Phi Don as well as Phi Phi Leh.
• Or pick a tour with the fee in. Longtail or speedboat compares the prices with and without it.
